It is our heartfelt hope that this tribute to Archbishop Tutu—which featured an incredible array of stunning performances, speeches, poetry, and song by artists who gave so generously of their remarkable talents—fully expressed the depth of our respect and love for this truly great man as well as our immense appreciation for his invaluable contributions to the world.
We’re thrilled to report that the event raised over $600,000 and garnered substantial positive media coverage in the U.S. and internationally. The generous donations we received and all of the event’s proceeds are enabling ANSA to continue our work in South Africa and America on HIV/AIDS, voting rights, and the empowerment of youth, and are also providing much needed funds to Philani and Tygerberg, two of the Arch’s favorite charities in Cape Town.
We at ANSA are very honored and grateful to have our hero, Archbishop Tutu, as our close advisor and friend. He is a most beloved member of our human family, who inspires us all and raises the bar on what it means to be truly human. The Arch has said, “The first law of our being is that we are set in a delicate network of interdependence with our fellow human beings and with the rest of God’s creation,” and he embodies the reality of that statement with such love and grace.
Thank you again for your support. We hope you will always remain a member of the ANSA family. |
